We have a dedicated International Recruitment Consultant to assist overseas nurses with their transition to Australia. From an initial enquiry through the process of gaining registration to the nurse’s placement in the hospital the Drake consultant will guide you through every step.

Drake Medox does not sponsor directly, but we can refer you on to our clients that can sponsor directly into their hospital.

*National nursing registration: From 1 July 2010 practitioners of the Nursing and Midwifery professions across Australia will have to meet the same requirements to be registered and their registration will be recognised in all States and Territories.

ENGLISH LANGUAGE TEST INFORMATION:

As of 1 July, 2009 All Nurses Boards in Australia require all international applicants to undertake an English Language Test to be eligible for registration as a Registered Nurse or Midwife. There are no exemptions for this requirement e.g. UK trained nurses still need to take the IELTS test.

For the IELTS you will need a score of 7 in all bands in one sitting and for the OET a score of 'B’ or above for all categories in one sitting. Please see: http://www.ielts.org/ and/or http://www.occupationalenglishtest.org/ for more information.

At this stage Mutual Recognition is not affected by the above pre-requisites, if you are already registered in one State of Australia, you can apply for Mutual Recognition in any other state. Mutual recognition also applies to applicants coming from New Zealand to Australia.
