Forensic mental health is a specialist area and typically refers to people with a mental illness who have offended or are at risk of offending. Working closely with our clients, we develop person-centred care plans to improve symptom stability, functional ability and to support both physical health and mental wellbeing. We recognise our clients face a number of complex challenges and require a high level of support across multiple areas. As specialists in high and complex needs, Drake Medox work to provide an integrated approach to care and support services. Each plan differs from person to person, and therefore our first and foremost focus is always having the client at the centre of planning. Our complex care team works closely with the individual and their family members, other health professionals as well as community agencies to develop and implement a person-centred support plan.
One of the truly great things about Drake Medox is our trusted team of experienced nursing and disability support staff who specialise in high and complex behavioural needs. All have undergone our extensive recruitment and induction process, ensuring they have the right skills and personal attributes to work with you or your loved one. Our care team are also provided with ongoing education and learning opportunities.
Our clients and families are also encouraged to be part of the recruitment process – each disability support team is recruited based on the specific care requirements, the unique needs of our client as well as experience and skill set. Ultimately our goal is to expand each person’s participation in all aspects of everyday life through consistent and high quality support.
